FamilienFest Rules & Etiquette

We welcome responsible dog owners and their dogs at Familienfest!

Here are a few simple rules to ensure that you, your dog, and other visitors enjoy the festival.

  • Children must be accompanied by an adult.

  • No outside food/beverages allowed.

  • Alcohol must stay within the festival area. (You cannot cross to Clinton Street with alcohol from the festival)

  • No smoking or vaping in the festival area.

  • ONLY dogs are allowed into FamilienFest in Headwaters Park West. All other animals are NOT allowed. *Note dogs are NOT allowed in the main festival tent in Headwaters East.

  • Ask permission before approaching or petting any dog.

  • Dogs MUST be leashed at all times (except when participating in the Wienerdog Nationals).

  • Never leave dog(s) unattended.

  • Dogs that exhibit vicious, fierce, aggressive, or dangerous behavior are not permitted in the FamilienFest festival area. If your dog becomes unruly or aggressive toward other dogs, you must leash your dog and exit the festival area.

  • Clean up after your dog.

  • No betting on the Wienerdog Nationals is allowed.

  • All attendees are expected to be respectful and kind towards GermanFest volunteers and attendees. GermanFest reserves the right to refuse participation to any persons or animals. Violators will be removed from the event.

  • Dogs, handlers, and attendees creating disturbance or violating rules must leave the festival area if requested by law enforcement, festival organizers, or designated agents.
